Choosing Forward: How a Health Crisis Redefined My Understanding of Presence

About the Program

When Rajna was diagnosed with a borderline malignant ovarian tumor just before her move to Canada, she didn't put her life on hold. Instead, she celebrated her mother's birthday, indulged in self-care, and weeks post-surgery, boarded a plane to Toronto. In this powerful talk, Rajna reveals how years of undiagnosed menstrual pain, followed by a sudden diagnosis of a large tumor, put her work as an executive presence coach to the ultimate test—transforming it from career to life philosophy.

Rajna highlights the fact that every woman's body is unique, making health a deeply personal, often unmeasurable journey. She offers fresh insights on navigating uncertainty, especially in a world where laws often impose unfounded theories about women's bodies and experiences. Her story inspires others to embrace their strength, prioritize their health, and lead with authenticity in all aspects of life.

From hospital bed to pickleball court, Rajna's journey challenges us to reconsider our response to life's unexpected turns. She proves that true presence isn't defined by what happens to us, but by how we choose to move forward.

Join Rajna as she shares powerful lessons on resilience, self-advocacy, and thriving amidst adversity, encouraging a nuanced understanding of women's health and autonomy.

About Rajna

Growing up in Mumbai, India, I learned through both rote memorization in school and the vibrant diversity of my community, adapting to life in 7 different languages.

When education took me to the United States, I discovered an approach that celebrated critical thinking. The blend of Eastern culture and Western innovation became my sweet spot even as navigating complex organizational challenges became my skill set.

Now, as an Executive Presence coach, I help leaders move forward, whatever their definition of that might be.

Home is now Toronto, where I live with my partner. You'll often find me embracing the winter chill on long walks - yes, I'm one of those who love the cold! When I'm not coaching, I'm either on the pickleball court having fun with friends, or in the yoga room, finding balance through meditation.

Borderline Ovarian Tumors

Borderline ovarian tumors, often referred to as “low malignant potential” tumors, are not invasive but also not completely benign. Their behavior can also vary based on microscopic features, and some are more likely to recur or spread than others.

We are the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

It is our mission to save lives through the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors and their caregivers.
